Approx two weeks ago I was gifted one very small piece of Salvinia with a plant order.

It has grown so much so quickly it has all but covered the surface of both of my tanks.

I am now having to thin it out and destroy the surplus.

Wish my stem plants would grow like that.

Put them up for sale 😁

What type of Salvinia is it? I’ve got Salvinia Minima. First time I’ve ever kept this type as it’s smaller with shorter roots.

As it was a freebie I was not told what type, but it looks like Minima or Natans they look very similar.
I have been astounded at the speed of growth.

Oops, spelling always was rubbish.
But it very well could have been. During my working career I dealt with them (Sylvania) thousands of times.
I was a buyer for an electrical wholesaler.

That’s S. minima. S. natans has ovoid leaves rather than round ones.
