Eheim's new wifi heaters.
I emailed Eheim about the option in my controller's "Add Device section", to add an EHEIM thermocontrol +.
Eheim have stated that there will be a new wifi heater in the new year:
This will be add to the control panel, (I screen dump my present control panel home page):

I’m old. What are the advantages of a wifi heater?

I don’t even get how they work? You can adjust them from a phone app? is my guess.

My thoughts exactly. Its designed to do one thing, why complicate it by bringing apps and wifi into itblack ghost wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 15:47 pm I don’t even get how they work? You can adjust them from a phone app? is my guess.

It’s unnecessary but it’ll increase the price. Lovely.

That's the idea, like LED lights there's nothing really special about them so they have to do something to justify the high price.

If it can send an alert to your phone if the heater malfunctions or something, that could be handy, laying in bed and a heater goes, alarm sounds etc

Lo1 likes technology and likes Eheim products. I also like Eheim products.
The Eheim Wi-Fi heater is another technology.
It can quote:
Lo1 already has the Eheim professional 5e 450 external filter with integrated Wi-Fi function and wireless control via smartphone, so adding a Wi-Fi heater kindof makes sense, all controlled from a smartphone.
I prefer my Eheim (non Wi-Fi) Pro external filters and my Hydor external (in-line) heaters but each to their own.
All the best

The Eheim ThermoControl e150 costs less than £30, so not overly expensive.Eheim wrote:Precise temperature adjustment from 20 to 32 °C
No readjustment necessary

The heat is kept constant
Control lamp indicates the heating function (red: heating up; green: temperature reached)
Fully submersible (waterproof)
With dry-running protection (Thermo Safety Control)
