Today (Saturday 30 October 2021) is big water change and clean up day.

I have removed all the bogwood and discovered both plecos under the same piece, there are 5 pieces of bogwood and they have chosen the smallest piece to hide under.
I will probably rearrange the bog wood pieces before re-filling the aquarium.
I will also give the bogwood a bit of a scrub using a wire brush under running water.
I will also remove any dead, decaying or unsightly leaves from the several plants of Amazon swords (Echinodorus bleheri).
The glass will also get a clean to remove any green algae.
I will be syphoning the sand soon.

Sadly I found one dead rummy-nose tetra this morning. :( but not to worry as I still have 49 rummy-nose tetra.

Oh well, back to it.

Edit:
I'm still at it at 1:40pm and a little while to go yet.

2nd Edit:
Just re-filling the aquarium (3:00pm) and the 550L will be done. :]

There’s something calming about watching the rummies go back and forth in and out of shot. Makes the scene look very busy :)
