TDS meters

I've decided to get one of these before I get some shrimp but have little idea what I'm looking for. The ones on ebay look a bit too cheap but it performs a simple task so my question is should I be looking for something fairly specific or are they all pretty much the same?

Most of those under £20 are about the same, if you want a really good one, you're looking at a lot of money as you're into science lab kit....
I think mine (if I can remember where I put it) was about a tenner on Amazon.....
