Nothing too bad, I just found that the food kept clogging up a bit.Andys temperate tank wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 20:46 pmGood to hear Bryan. What did you find awkward about the gamma bottle?Bryan_D wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 20:14 pmHi Andy, it’s going well actually. I’ve been doing a fair bit of experimenting!Andys temperate tank wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 21:24 pm How you getting on with the fish food @Bryan_D
I’m giving them a varied diet of pellet most days and frozen about every fourth day or so.
For the pellets, they get either Hikari micro pellets/Fluval bug bites micro pellets or Hikari vibra bites. I still have some Fluval colour enhancing flakes which I also give them on occasion until it’s finished.
I mix these up so they get different ones or different mixes on different days.
For frozen food I’m giving them Aquadip Bloodworm and Gamma Brine Shrimp. 2 cubes each feed.
MA didn’t have any mozzie larvae in stock. I’m keen to try that as well as I hear it’s a good one for Rainbows.
They pretty much go mad for everything to be fair!
I tried the gamma bottle for a bit, but it found it a bit awkward. So now I just thaw out the cubes in a small bowl of aquarium water. Then I drain that off and add fresh aquarium water. I use a large pippette to draw them up and then I squirt it into the tank.
The shrimp have added garlic and aloe Vera so I don’t bother adding anything there, but when I first started using the pellets I added a few drops of Seachem Nourish and Garlic Guard. I found it made the pellets too mushy though and they broke up too much in the water. Probably because I’ve been adding too much.
I’ll keep experimenting.
Really appreciate the advice, I’m very glad I’ve added frozen foods and switched to pellets now.

@Bryan_D you've just reminded me. I cut a bit off the end of the nozzle. The hole is tapered so you can make the hole a size that suits your food.

Revisiting this, do you use all the mixture at once or leave it in the fridge. Quite a big bottle so could hold more than one feed in it.
