We are off on hols for two weeks in July, and, although my teenage son will probably be ok with feeding the fish/shrimp, I am a little concerned that he will either forget the liquid plant ferts or get the dosage wrong!
What can I expect to happen if I simply don't add ferts for two weeks?
I have visions of a couple of tanks full of spider web algae or worse... :woo:
Cheers!

You don't trust your son to dose the tank and your leaving him for two weeks ...I'm thinking rave parties till the wee hours of the morning!

If the house is still standing, you might well have an algae outbreak without sufficient regular fertiliser dosing. Easily cleared up once you get back with patience.

It would probably be less of a problem if he didn't feed the fish for the two weeks, then any that developed would be pecked at by the fish.... ;)
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

As well as not feeding the fish and shrimp, you also reduce the aquarium daily photoperiods.

Less light = less algae and it won't harm the plants either, nor the fauna.
