Hi all.

I came across this today:


I haven't been able to find anything on it, so was intrigued as to why? I guess they'd have an ability to survive in some European waters, but not being a part of the EU makes me wonder if they are capable of ours, for the summer at least. I know we've previously adhered to EU bans, apple snails for instance.

They're a bread and butter fish really so will be sad to not see them in the shops.

I found the answer via OATA.

They're not banned Danio's but imports of some fish species are been restricted as of May this year.

It's all to do with the susceptible disease list and number of tropical fish species are listed as well as Danio rerio.

Probably not. I found before MA staff are very reluctant change incorrect listings.

They're on a poor wage. Unsurprising if some of them aren't that fussed and it's very much dependent on the shop. I've no doubt they're told they're wrong every day about something as "someone told me on Facebook". A plague of incorrect info kicking around on generic groups on there. I'd imagine it's a very difficult job. I overheard someone telling them a rainbow shark was suitable for a 90l yesterday, as an example.

A whole different debate though, so I'll leave it there
