I don't think it's potent enough to kill a fish in a tank? All the cases I've read about have been in a bag on the way home from the shop. I'd have thought that they would all be dead as well?

I agree with @BigBen, highly unlikely.

I've just got home for lunch and found a dead Trilineatum
Quick water test to check and all fine. Water change was done on Sunday as usual so not a reaction to that. Upped the surface agitation to rule out low oxygen levels, but I thought I'd have noticed more trips to the surface it that was the case & the others all seem fine.

This C. Trilineatum, how did it look apart from being deceased, any marks or the gut look sunken?

One problem with buying these fish when adult size, you just don't know how old they are.
Just keep an eye on your water parameters over the next few days.

That's what I'd been thinking, no real way of knowing age. I'll keep an eye on the water testing anyway, but I'd have thought the fry in the tank would have succumbed to anything first if it had been that.Martinspuddle wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 18:58 pm One problem with buying these fish when adult size, you just don't know how old they are.

Edit: just had a check on the others and the one that died was the only one with short whiskers that I photographed the other day so maybe something else going on with her
