Hello.
I am very concerned with one of my fish this evening. I have a blackmoor and a fancy. The blackmoor is fine, he sleeps, floats about and seems perfectly normal. The fancy has been at the surface drinking air all evening, literally... hours.
I have a video but not sure if I can upload it here. I have attached a photo instead. You can see the blackmoor snoozing in the bottom right of the tank.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? I have a pump running and air stones with lots of bubbles and movement. I thought if it was a lack of oxygen then the blackmoor would be suffering too.
Many thanks for any advice
Sarah
What is wrong with my fancy goldfish?

Hello, Sarah, and welcome aboard!
Everything looks pretty clean, which could mean it's quite newly set up. I'm not familiar with goldfish behaviour, but sleeping during daylight isn't normal for fish that I do know better. So ...
... do you have current test results for ammonia and nitrite, please? If you don't have the tests, have you a fish shop near you that could do those tests for you (they usually charge a quid or two)?

Welcome to the forum.
As well as @Vale!'s question:
How long have you had them, what size is the tank, what are your water change and feeding regimes? Do you know the hardness of the water?
And, a very random question, what's the weather like where you are (air pressure can cause things like mating behaviour)?

If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it!
Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

Welcome to
Tank is too small, looks like a Ciano Aqua to me either 40 or 60 as the depth isn't much, also the filter looks to be just sponges.
Goldfish are very messy and need plenty of space. A 4ft tank would be suitable whilst small but larger is always better.
Could you give us some info on when the tank was setup, how it was setup etc? As @Vale! @plankton says, it looks very clean.

While we await further news ...
Since I'm on the PC I took the opportunity to zoom Dooburg's pic to look at his Blackmoor and my eyes got hijacked by pareidolia, twice! I got a bear cub weeping uncontrollably ; and then, tilting my head 90 degrees clockwise, it turned into a seal.
Sorry. As you were.
