This will be just a tiny pond, but a pond non the less.
The aim is to create a wildlife pond which may or may not be big enough to house a few minnows.
It will be a maintenance free setup with the main source of filtration being marsh plants and oxygenating plants.

I have a couple of options at the moment regarding size and style, but it will have to be raised.

You'll need to be careful in winter with fish if it's only a foot deep. ;)
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I'm wanting a pond but due to us renting we can't dig one in :( . Considered a patio pond but, as mentioned by Ian, winter will be an issue as they're never deep enough.

Intrigued as to how yours turns out :)
