In the court of King Caractacus then. ;)
Everything sounds quite normal to me and they're obviously getting settled.
Keep your eye on the harlies though. It may just be that they're expecting food. My fish come front and top of the tank when they expect to be fed (which is why I don't always feed them at the same time).

Really annoyed at myself I was giving the tank a clean last night and a shrimp must have came out on my arm on a bit of surface vegetation found him on the floor this morning. First loss and just down to not being careful, gonna bump my numbers up to get a decent colony going of the little blighters.

Quick update and some advise please.

So my Panda Garra as nice as he was didn't seem to settle, just up and down the glass and round and round for a week and a half, so returned him sadly and got 4 Pepper Cory who are great, happily gobbling at the bottom. I was in my LFS and seen a beautiful male Betta, I mean BEAUTIFUL. I know its hit and miss in a community tank, but how hit and miss is it? Would I know as soon as I put him in or could he just go totally natural born killer?

Only concern I would truly have is my cherry shrimp.... he was a beautiful Betta though.

Hit and miss enough to make sure you have a spare tank ready for it lol.

::eek:: They have said they would take him back, kinda made a buddy at my local pets at home. I was in looking at him and he kinda looks like a Koi Betta, he turned round looked right at me and flared his gills. ::crazy:: How temperamental are they, I mean if he is in and settled for say a day am I good or could he just turn one day?

They can turn.

My first betta (Stan) shares a tank with 6 sterbai and I dont know how many cherry shrimp. The new one seems alot more grumpy.

I'm trying to convince myself to try him, or should I go safe with 2-3 honey Gourami? Ahhhhhhhhhh fishkeeping!
