Convict has a pink sore looking lump where his fin joins the body, bout half the size of a rice Krispie.
Been there a few days, I was hoping he'd just bashed it and it would heal but doesn't seem to be getting better and he's a bit subdued today.
Any ideas?

Difficult to really tell from the pic.
It could be damage - is he/she trying to guard fry?

Yeah he's guarding fry and nest, tank is very placid and no one messes with him, he chases they run.
It could be he's bashed into wood in the tank, I have a lot in there now, my Oscars keep scraping themselves.
I'll keep an eye on him, hopefully it'll heal up.
