Who keeps Lemon Tetras?

Do they get really yellow when they mature? I know they don't look much in store tanks.

Do they mix well with other similar sized tetras?

I have 11 lemons with my Discus, the school really well. When they're mature they have lovely dorsal and caudal fin markings and they have very distinctive red eyes. I really like them, bit their bodies aren't that colourful yet. I've only had mine a month or so.

It's impossible to get a good photo on my phone, so this will have to do. Mines caudal fins are starting to get their yellow and black markings.

Yep, 17 lemons in with my discus too - mine have been in there since Jan/Feb 2020

I have some- maybe 10?, I really like them and they coloured up a lot, but they are not bright, fins are brighter yellow though. They are more yellow/green and sort of blend it with greenery.

Picture's quite dark but I bet the black background helps them stand out.

They mingle a bit amongst themselves but not with others at all

That’s the thing I have no background. They do look cool with almond leaves in and slightly darker water for me

Pic from April 2020....they're about 6+ years old and recently started to go black, which means they're old.....



Mine used to shoal with the rummies before they all passed, I've only got 5 of the original 12 left now.
