I've not kept shrimp for long, less than a month but I'm trying to tell if I have a mix of male and female (hopefully)...
Would you say this one is berried or just looks fatter than the others?
Berried shrimp or fat?

Bit difficult to tell, but definitely a female rili shrimp, and not fat!
Usually the eggs are pretty obvious when tucked under the skirt / swimmerets at the bottom of the abdomen - you should see lots of small eggs, being yellow or greenish in colour. The saddle is still very evident, being bright yellow, suggesting that the eggs have not yet passed from behind the head to the skirt - this happens after moulting and mating. I think it can take up to a week for the eggs to move.
So my guess is; moulted, mated, getting ready to move eggs.... but I could be wrong!

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out, I've seen at least 3 moults in the last week, so I was hoping to have seen eggs under a tail of one of them but I'm wondering if I've beaten the odds and had 0 males in the 5 shrimp I have.. I started with 6 and one died after a water change (I think too big a water change or the ferts I added didn't sit right)
I'll keep an eye out, it's only been a few weeks since I got them

This is one of the other shrimp I think
Is this one cleaning it's pleopods? It was bent right over a few times, looked like it was cleaning it's back while doing so.
They're fascinating to watch and work out what they're up to

Looks like it, it may have recently dropped shrimplets?
