I had to do to Darlington today so took the opportunity of visiting the LFS. I bought some Golden Barbs and when the assistant was catching them, this little fellow slipped into the net with the Goldies. Instead of causing more stress by trying to get him/her out I suggsted that I just keep it with the Goldies.
Am I correct in thinking its a "Striped Barb" as it was in the Barb section?
Sorry about the blurred photo but it wouldn't swim still.

Sorry but I cannot upload photos. I get this message

Picture 2 is a hexazona barb, but pentazona is almost identical. :)

Could you find a google image of the same fish and post the link?

@Stephen your pic shows a male in breeding dress (somewhat). Outside of breeding they only have a hint of red, like Jon_D’s. Females have no red at all. :)

(Not to mention the black fins...)

He’d be happier with female barbs than girls... ;)
