Brown leaf tips on Parlor palms is a classic sign of overwatering, think your still giving it too much.

Mine get watered only when the compost is dry and shrinking.



I’ve got 4 of them in different places around the house, this one was a baby earlier this year

Here are my 2, I have a very bad record with houseplants, but these have survived long enough to get repotted so that counts as impressive

I through this too and I end up stop watering for a few weeks at a time for about 2 months it just got worst then I moved it away from the window to it new place and cut it (which I shoudn't of done) and restarted water weekly.
It become green again and I can see new leaf forming.
I will continue and hope it still improves.

It's no longer Spring, so maybe there should be a thread for each season? In the meantime ...

Security protocols in my greenhouse have been raised to Defcon2. Some little git has got in there and is slowly working its way through just-ripe fruit. I want to trap it but I'm not sure what it is. I was just wondering if any gardeners here could definitely identify it from its traces, or at least suggest what it's most likely to be.

This has happened to a mangomel since this mid-morning :



It may not show up in the pic, but either side of the plant's stem there is a round depression in the mulch. If that was caused by two feet, then their owner must have some weight to him/her.


This happened overnight (one of several tomatoes that had been molested) :

The piece of acrylic is there to keep a mangomel off the ground ; it's not there any more. That melon was attacked several days ago, but we managed to salvage a good part of it (very sweet!). I thought that a bird must have taken advantage of the door being open for extra ventilation and that it would prove to be a one-off now that the door is closed again. However, this afternoon I saw the soil that had been deposited over it. There's a sort of a hole there in the mulch as well ; I dug around violently but no-one fled.

Whatever it is has got to go.

I took it because I'd imagined that when a fly gets seduced into one of these plants, it would fall right to the bottom to be digested ; but no! The leaves have a smallish pocket which terminates halfway down - maybe you can make out the dark masses of flies that define those pockets? Anyway, that's apropos of not very much - just that I saw the pic at a convenient time!
