Having a really bad time at the moment with all our Clowns down with Ich.

Have been treating with Waterlife Protozin, but could not find any information on how to treat after the Day 1,2,3 and 6 on the bottle (or, anywhere on the web). Because the Ich has not got any better I contacted Waterlife and this is what they have said:

"Increase the temperature to 30deg C if possible to speed up the life cycle. Wait 72 hours from last treatment and then start a new treatment course. If the pH of the aquarium is 6.5 or above you can treat every day for six days with the full recommended dosage.
Regards Waterlife."

Will start the half dosing of the Waterlife Protozin, every 12hours, of the tank tomorrow.

Sounds about right - I would do a water change in between the courses of meds. ;)

Update from Waterlife:

"No we usually recommend the treatment regime as set out on the bottle. It is just that you said that the white spot had not gone with the first course. This usually means that if you have treated correctly the first time that the disease is slightly resistant form and the increasing of the dosage to every day for 6 days usually sees the disease rapidly disappear.
Regards,..."

FYI: Waterlife Protozin and Twinstar Nano.

"We usually recommend that UV filtration is turned off and carbon, zeolite any resins or polyfilters are removed from the aquaria. We have not tested the Protozin with a twin star nano so we would err on the side of caution and turn it off for the course of treatment and for 72 hours after the final dosage.
Regards,..."

The second dose over six days appears to have cleared it.

No losses among the loaches.

Dosed half in the morning (6.5ml), and the other half in the evening (6.5ml).
