Struggled to get some and what I got had a strange chemical smell to it, so didn’t risk putting it in. Will Equilibrium do the same as cuttlebone or should I try and get some more?

Got some Equilibrium so I’m going to slowly add it over the next few hours, testing GH and TDS as I go.

You'll need some source of calcium for them to be able to moult properly......I doubt whether Equilibrium will provide that.
Does the cuttle still smell after you've boiled a piece for a couple of minutes (just pop it in some boiling water, you actually have to put it on a hob ;) )?

I'm exporting my iron water to him, that will sort his problem out!

It does have calcium in it, not sure if it’s what the shrimp need though.
I can’t use the cuttlebone as I no longer have it. Don’t think I’d have been happy using it under any circumstances. I’ve got to go out shortly and there’s a pet shop nearby, so I’ll pop in and see if they have any.

I’ve been replacing a litre of tank water with a litre of Equilibrium about once an hour. This raises the GH a little to around 3-4GH but within an hour it’s back down to 2GH. What’s going on there?

No cuttlebone at the pet shop. Ordered some from Amazon that will be here tomorrow, hopefully this stuff is good.

Fingers crossed - I don't think the Seachem stuff will be enough. ;)

Got some cuttlebone and it’s been in a pan of boiling water, took half hour to sink. I scraped some to make a dust and dropped it in the tank, hopefully the shrimp will find some.

Unfortunately another dead shrimp today, only one left now. I really want some more but need to figure out what’s killing them first. Fingers crossed that the cuttlebone does the job and this last one survives.
