I visited Maidenhead Aquatics at Coatbridge,(near Glasgow) this afternoon. One word sums it up C**P.
Tanks were a mess,
fish were poor quality,
dry goods poor and to cap it off,
I have NEVER seen so many mis-labeled, unlabeled, sometimes unpriced tanks ever.
The fish that were priced were the most expensive fish I have ever seen in any MA branch.
It was a complete mess.
Needless to say I purchased nada.

I actually live on the East side of Scotland rather than the West. We were visiting family yesterday.
The closest MA branches to me are Edinburgh, Livingstone and beleive it or not Carlisle.
Edinburgh are ok, Livingston are average but the best one is the MA in Dobbies, Carlisle (there are 2 MA in Carlisle).
I have in fact visited all the Scottish MA's except for Braehead.
Sorry to have put my post on your thread by mistake Stephen.

Sounds like far too much effort to me, if the shop at the bottom of the road doesn't have what I want then it's mail order time.

The only aquarium shop a the bottom of my road is unfortunately Pets at Home. OK for some dry goods but not fish.

I do not mind a trip to other stores, in fact I enjoy it, especially if we are visiting relatives in the area. Other trips in Scotland can be very enjoyable if it is to the likes of Stirling or Inverness.

I have never bought fish online.
