Hello,

I’m looking for any recommendations anyone has for LFS in central Scotland? I visited the one in Mackinnon Mills in Coatbridge and wasn’t very impressed.. there used to be loads locally but seems they’ve all disappeared sadly. I do remember a really good one over Lothian which we travelled to regularly but it’s a good trek and whether it’s still there I’ve no idea.

So - Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling if anyone knows of any good ones 🙂

Besides the Maidenhead Aquatics @ Fishkeeper Glasgow (Coatbridge) there are other Maidenhead Aquatics in the region (see the list below).
Maidenhead Aquatics are not all the same, some are great, some are good but others are not so good which is usually down to the store manager.

Fishkeeper Scotland at MacKinnon Mills isn't what it used to be.

Fins Aquatics & Pet Supplies in Holytown is a great wee local shop on the main street, I went to school with the owner he's really knowledgeable and helpful.

Fishkeeper Livingston is a fraction of the size of the Coatbridge one, was there recently, staff very helpful though.

Riverside Aquaria in Uphall(I think) is still the best store I've been to for selection, can be pricey though.

If you're looking for good value though speak to James at Fins.

Last time I was in stirling it was ok.
Last time I was in Coatbridge it was rubbish.
Last time I was in Livingston it was ok.
Last time I was in Melville it was ok.
None were great, as Stephen says it's down to management and they seem to vary from visit to visit.
In my opinion the best MA is a bit of a travel to Dobbies Carlisle (be careful there are two in Carlisle and one is not so hot)
All of those are just my opinion.
