That's normal for plecs to have the markings, they can mean lots of different things, but the main reason is camouflage.
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it!

Thanks i was told that plecos can camouflage and i had hoped t was this, he is still not showing signs of stress/illness other than colour change so i hope all is good.
