That's a shame, may be there'll be some from the fry?
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

I'm finally getting around to a rescape I've been wanting to do for a while, which includes rehoming the emperor tetras. Seeing as I can't catch them with decor and plants, I'll strip it out, catch them and take them to a local store once everything arrives for the rescape.

I bit the bullet and cracked on with the tank rescape on monday night. Everything came out, the tank was scrubbed from top to bottom to make sure its all clean and free of algae. The rocks will be cleaned and put away once the wood has sunk (which tbf, is going pretty well!)

Unipack black sand has gone in as a substrate with no ferts under it this time.
A big chunk of root has also gone in with bits sticking out for plants to grow emersed.
Hygrophila Corymbosa, Hygrophila Costata and Hydrocotyle Leucocephala are all planted and emersed (purchased that way)
Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown and Cryptocoryne Crispatula have also gone back in along with my Nymphoides Hydrophylla Taiwan and what I think is a Echinodorus Red-something.

I found a few bits of hairgrass growing at the back that I forgot about so thats also gone in and hopefully will root quick enough that the snails or nibbler won't tear them up!

The MTS and ramshorn snails have been removed and the plants have been dipped before going back in, so fingers crossed we don't get over run this time round.

The downside is the lid is now off and I'm dealing with roughly 1L of water a day in evaporation  which is to be expected seeing as the surface area is greater than most tanks of this volume.
