A new Ram was described earlier this year. It resembles the Bolivian Ram, Mikrogeophagus altispinosa, which is from the lower Rio Guapore, in Brazil and Bolivia.

The new Ram is called M. maculicauda, from the upper Rio Guapore, in Brazil. It’s similar to the Bolivian but has a large black blotch on the peduncle, and a metallic green sheen to the body.

Yeah, pretty much. The Brazilian Ram. Or maybe the Green Ram? Time will tell.
