Is there anything I can do to help her?
Cherry Barb with swollen abdomen.
Can anyone advise me what is wrong with my cherry Barb. Her abdomen is very swollen and at first I thought she could be egg bound but today I noticed part of her belly is red and I wonder if she could be bleeding internally? She is swimming but not in the usual manner, more upright.
Is there anything I can do to help her?

Not easy to see from this image, but it looks to me as quite a large wound. You have any sharp rocks or Dragon stone in your aquarium?
Good clean water and API Melafix might help but if an infection gets hold, you maybe find it a losing battle. Do you have a second small aquarium you can treat this fish?

Sadly I don’t have a small aquarium to put her in. I do have rocks but not dragon stone and they have no noticeable sharp edges. I will try and get the API Melafix tomorrow and see how she progresses.
